Decades ago here in Edinburgh's Princess Street in a large department store, they did subliminal messaging saying repeatedly "Don't shoplift, shoplifting is bad", or words to that effect. You could not hear it but it was supposed to put people off shoplifting. I have said since then that if they do that then they could do it with a message saying buy this or whatever.
Rest in peace Dr Robert Duncan. He had a few books published, some good videos out there. He was on twitter recently.
